Dear users of MAGIX Online Album,

now you can upload your own background image to your personal album website.

Dear users of MAGIX Website Maker,

due to multiple requests we have added two improvements to Website Maker.

1.  Adjustable counter
You can now adjust the visitor counter of your website yourself.
To do this, select the user counter on your website and open the Properties manager. Then click on "Settings".

2.  Email notification after new guest book entries
You immediately receive an email notification when a visitor has left a comment in your guest book. The notification is activated by default. To deactivate the notification select the guest book on the workspace of Website Maker and open the Properties manager. Then click on "Email notification".

Dear MAGIX Website Maker users,

In the last months we have recieved many suggestions for improving text filed objects. The wish to have the text field equipped with its own scrollbars was often voiced. We are happy to annouce, that this feature is available online starting today.

This is how the new scroll textfield works:

• All currently available text fields on the workspace have two option icons at the bottom, which may be used to turn scrollbars on or off.

  Note! If the scrollbars are activated, but is not shown, it can be becasue the text still fits into the frame. Scrollbars will be shown dynamically as soon as the text no longer fits into the frame.
  
  
• In the Object Manager you can add scrollbar text fields next to normal text fields. To do this, simply select the text field and drag it onto the work stage.
  
  
  New category "scroll text field" in the Object Manager
  
  
  
•  The appearance of the scrollbars may be altered at any time. Select the scroll text field and open the "Properties Manager". Under"Scrollbar skin" select a differnt scrollbar with a click. You may also change the orientation of thscrollbar (right or left).  Of course, all other object properties (such as coloration, links) also work.

Dear MAGIX Online World user,

In March, we informed you about the introduction of the new storage system for the MAGIX Online World. This will combine the previously separate storage systems for the Online Album and Website Maker, and the contents maintained by our customers has started to be transferred from the old system to the new one (data migration).

We're please to report that currently all data migrations have been completed successfully.

Due to the number of users to migrate and the quantity of data produced by several million files that is involved, there may be delays using our Online Services.
We would like to inform you now about possible disruptions and thank you in advance for your understanding.

1. If you are not able to log in to the Online World at a certain time, then your data is being migrated to the new storage system at that particular time. Normally, this process only lasts a few minutes for individual users. Just try logging in again later on.
   
   
2. Please don't be concerned in case the following symbol is displayed after you upload your media (photos, videos, music, or documents)
   
   
   
   
   
   in the Online Media Manager or in Website Maker. This symbol means that at that particular moment, a waiting loop has been created due to the high traffic created by the data migration, and this will have to be processed first. In exceptional cases, some media will not be able to be used for several hours after it has been uploaded.
   
   
3. In case the following symbol is displayed after you upload your media (photos, videos, music, or documents)
   
   
   
   
   
   in the Online Media Manager or in Website Maker, then an error has occurred. Please delete the file in this case and upload it again.

Here you can look through websites and albums of other users or search for specific images or pages. The gallery may be found in the main navigation directly to the right of the "Website Maker" button.


 
A note on privacy:

You can always set the option in your Conrol Center, choosing whether your websites and albums may be searched in this gallery or not. Simply log in at www.magix-online.com and switch into the right menu "Control Center" to "Settings". Here, you will find a new entry "Privacy".



You may also set whether you may be found by searching your real name or email address (this search function is available solely to logged-in users).

With this in mind, we have released a new Easter-template for Website Maker and the Online Album.

Dear users of MAGIX Website Maker,

there is new range for your creativity!
We have improved the picture frame feature of our Website Maker and added three new scopes for design. In the following, we are going to explain these innovations and , furthermore, you will get some hints concerning the utilization of the picture frame and the possibilities of its individualization.

If you want to use a picture frame for your website, it can be chosen in the  menu-bar on the left hand side of your screen as you are used to it. Its placed "at objects/ picture frame". You have the choice between high size and horizontal format, according to what you are looking for.

Hint: All frames can be sized and adjusted freely. You always can turn a high sized frame into a horizontal format and the other way around.

If you have chosen your preferred frame, just place it on your website by using drag and drop.

Hint: You can open the attributes-box by double-clicking on your frame. Set its color, adjust the transparency and add animations or other visual effects.

To show a photo in your frame, you first of all have to load it up to Website Maker. You can do so by clicking the button "Upload" at  "objects" on left-hand-sides tool-bar. Select the requested data and confirm. You will find your uploaded media at "objects/ my media/ uploaded". Place your picture into your frame using drag and drop.

Below the frame, three new buttons will appear:

1 .Show photo fitted exactly to the picture frame

The left one of these three buttons allows you to show the picture filling up all the space in your frame. By this, the photo will be cut at its edges to make it fit the format of your chosen frame. There wont be any contortions of your photo.

2. Show photo in original format in the picture frame

Using this feature, which can be picked by the mid-button, the picture will be show completely in your frame. There wont be any loss of picture-data. Instead, a rim between picture and frame will appear to fit the frame's format.

3. Manual editing

Using the right button, you can activate and reset the manual-editing-feature. Only in case manual-editing is deactivated, you can chose the options „show photo fitted exactly to the picture frame“ and „show photo in original format in the picture frame“. As soon as you activate manual editing, you can scale, turn and relocate your uploaded picture independently from your frame. By this, you have the possibility just to show an excerpt of your picture or place it centrically in the frame as if you used a passe-partout.
